3Suns : About Us

Our goal is to supply Photovoltaic modules at the best available price, in order to lower costs to our customers and maximize the investment efficiency for solar investors and help spread PV usage around the world. 3Suns’ ambitions don’t stop there, though. We plan to take advantage of our expertise in EPC and financing activities to invest in, build and manage several solar projects in Southern Italy.

As a matter of fact, we already have plans to extend our investments in PV solar fields to an overall 50 MW within the next 5 years. Finally, our long-term goal is to invest into R&D projects to develop and commercialize new, integrated renewable technology-solutions and contribute to a more profitable and sustainable future.

About us

Solar Panels 3Suns owes its name to the first R&D project that one of the funders, Roberto Vito Ingraldi, undertook in 2006 - 2007 as a joint effort with the University of Palermo in Italy. Enerpack 4, a modified crystalline PV module, was brought to light in 2007, and it boasted a clever design that allowed it to maximize the conversion efficiency while reducing the amount of silicon used in its construction. The system incorporated a sunlight concentration system that multiplied by a factor of 3 the amount of energy hitting a unit of area of Silicon Cell (compared with the amount of energy transferred to the same area by direct sunlight) increasing the cell productivity in the byway. Given that direct sunlight irradiation is deemed as “1 sun” and a concentration of sunlight equal to three times the available direct solar irradiation is scientifically defined as “3 suns”, the funders of the company, Roberto Vito Ingraldi and Ottavio Gori, decided to call the company that way.

Incidentally, the “3Suns” name turned out to be very suitable for the eventual structure of the company, as 3Suns currently has three different branches: “Commercial branch”, “EPC branch” and “Financing and Investment branch”.

PVC Cells 3Suns Commercial activity, which mainly consist in the trading of PV solar modules, began in the fourth quarter of 2008 after a series of deals were struck with different PV modules producers. The panels that 3Suns trades, manufactured in China and in India following the best practices in the industry, offer high qualitative standards at the lowest prices available. In particular, 3Suns is the official distributor of Jiawei SolarChina Ltd Monocrystalline products for the Italian market, but it also as a mandate to source a wide range of Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline and a-Si Thin Film modules from other manufacturers, one of which is Sungen International Co., Ltd. Currently, 3Suns’ products main market is the Italian one.

The EPC branch bases its operations on the vast expertise matured by Roberto Vito Ingraldi in both construction and engineering for the telecom industry. The Italian-based 3Suns S.r.l. is highly specialized in the EPC of solar installations, both on the ground and on rooftops. 3Suns relies on its services to offer its customers the chance of purchasing highly customized turn-key solutions to satisfy their needs.

PVC Cells The Financing and Investment branch is now playing a support role for the Commercial activity, given that its services are focused on helping customers sourcing the funds required to finance their solar installations. To achieve that, 3Suns provides customers with direct access to Prestinuova, Fideo and SACE. Prestinuova, a subsidiary of the Banca Popolare Vicentina group of banks, can provide credit-worthy customers with up to 100% of their total financing requirements in the form of long-term debt. Fideo, linked to the Italian Chamber of Commerce, is devoted to insure 50% of the loan negotiated with the chosen financial institution; Fideo de facto reduces the financing cost of its customers by reimbursing a pre-determined percentage of the interest payments (negotiated with the chosen bank) to the customer. SACE is an Italian governmental agency that insures borrowers against default, increasing their creditworthiness and lowering their financing costs. Also, 3Suns provides customers with analysis on the projects’ expected returns and with advisory services to maximize the cash-flow from their PV investments.

In the future, though, this branch will become ever more central to 3Suns strategy, as it will have to source both equity and debt to finance the group PV investment strategy and to allocate extra funds to sustain the group’s R&D efforts into the most promising new Renewable Technologies.

Indian Company:

The 3Suns S.r.l. and Energy Project S.r.l. have formed a new Company in India with the old and famous Plaza Group in the market Indian electrical engineering since 1962. The New Company "Plaza Ener Pack Pvt Ltd" will be represented by Sanjay Gupta (Chairman), Roberto Ingraldi (CEO) and Franz Tornes (Director). The registered office has been opened to New Delhi in the heart of the Centre of Indian Affairs and the Capital Company is already operating with a constant italian presence.

Another important step 3Suns who will be responsible to export Engineering Italian culture in the heart of the Indian state. A special thanks to Avv. Andrea Vincenti who worked with great skill and determination for the legal aspect of the JVC Indiana.

Plaza Ener Pack

Management

Ottavio Gori is an Italian national who has a 18 years experience in corporate banking, finance, project management and corporate strategies, with 11 years spent in Asia, based in Singapore, Thailand and Japan. In the last 4 years, Mr. Gori has been focusing on energy projects involving biomass and more recently solar energy. His role in this venture will be to manage the project through all its stages from Singapore, being also one of the shareholders. Moreover, Singapore’s headquarter will manage the commercial operations by buying PV from Chinese producers and selling them in Italy and in other eligible Countries through a network of agents

Roberto Ingraldi is an Italian engineer with several experiences in Europe working with multinationals (Procter & Gamble), and is an entrepreneur heading a group of companies involved in general contracting, telecommunications and, more recently, energy. After developing with the University of Palermo Enerpack3 and Enerpack 4, of which he owns the patent, he decided to set up with Ottavio Gori 3Suns S.r.l., the holding company of all his alternative energy ventures. His role, as manager of both 3Suns Srl and Giga Srl, an engineering and construction company, will be to install solar panels provided by the Singapore’s company, to EPC customer’s solar fields and 3Suns own plants and to smooth bureaucratic/political issues that may arise during the running of the business.
